I had this issue of water soap overflowing and leaking out of the dispenser.
Lg washer detergent dispenser fills with water.
With drawer pulled out after initial fill and wash water enters back of dispenser in a trickle for rinsing never flowing through top right roof section of cavity through holes to drop into fabric softener well.
Replacing the water inlet valve fixed my problem.
Clean each component with warm water and a soft bristled brush.
Pull the dispenser drawer towards you until it stops.
While pressing down on the tab mentioned above pull the drawer toward you.
Washer initially flushes detergent area left side and fills for wash cycle w o problem.
You can prove this at the sink.
The spray may cause enough water to fill the dispenser tray but not enough to start the siphon.
Valve assembly should fix this.
Wipe any moisture with a dry towel or cloth after cleaning.
Hold the dispenser level and note how much water is left when the siphon is lost.
I ve removed the entire drawer tray and cleaned it out.
The liquid soap dispenser drawer tray is filled with water after wash cycle is done.
The detergent tray will completely remove from the front of the washer.
Either way if the unit is filling there is either nothing you can do about it or you need to replace the electronic valve because it s causing water to leak into the dispenser.
In this video i m showing y.
I am experiencing the same problem.
I just replaced it right now and watched the cycle for a few minutes.
If one opens the dispenser in the middle of a cycle then yes you will find water like that in the cup.
Soap dispenser is filled with water after each cycle.
With the drawer removed each compartment piece can be removed.
I have an lg washer the 3570 and i do get water in the detergent dispenser cup but nothing like that.
Add water till it starts to drain.
If it does this then the problem might be a spray from the dispenser in following loads.
The bleach dispenser fills with water but then gets sucked back out.
Well it could be just splashing in there from the rinse water or the valve could be cracking open when the rinse water is being released causing it to fill a bit.
There are no visible clogs or blockages.
It will still leave some residual.
I traced the issue down to the liquid detergent cup.
The washer runs water into that part and the prewash part of the dispenser all the time at least mine does.
Press down on the depressed tab between the softener and bleach inserts.
With the drawer removed remove each component piece gently.
Not residual water as in normal but water up to the max line in later loads water remained in the softener dispenser but not in the soap tray as in the first time.
Pull the dispenser drawer towards you until it stops.
