Lg recommends cleaning out the drain pump filter of any lost items and lint buildup on a monthly basis.

Remove the plastic pump housing. Remove the 7 screws from the top of the front panel. Make sure the unit is empty turned off and drained of any visible water in the tub. Release the rubber door boot from the lip around the opening to the washer tub on the front panel.

Slide the small front drain hose backward through the hole it is sticking through. Open and remove the acces panel by pulling the tab downward and out revealing the drain hose and drain pump filter. Use the outer spring pliers to expand the spring clamp and remove it from the door boot. Pull the pump toward the rear of the machine an inch or so until it is free.

Next grab a shallow pan and have it ready by placing it near the access panel to collect the water. After all the remaining water is drained from the drain hose place a hand towel beneath the drain filter on the right side. If your lg front loader has an oe error and won t drain check this before ordering a new pump it may be a free 5 minute fix. Twist the pump filter counter clockwise to remove it from the washer.

Remove the mounting screw from bottom of the front panel. Remove the pump and set it aside.
